OVC FY25 Services for Victims of Crime

This program supports the development, expansion and strengthening of victim service programs for all victims of crime throughout the United States and its territories. Award recipients will increase the quality and quantity of victim services in the following categories: · Category 1: Services to Child and Youth Victims (Anticipated Award Ceiling: $500,000) Awards under this category will be made to entities to serve child and youth victims of crime. Child and youth victims are persons who were age 17 or younger when the victimization took place. · Category 2: Services to Elder Victims of Abuse, Fraud, and Exploitation (Anticipated Award Ceiling: $500,000) Awards under this category will be made to entities to serve victims of elder fraud, abuse, and exploitation. For purposes of this funding opportunity, victims of elder fraud, abuse, and exploitation are persons who were age 55 or older when the victimization took place. · Category 3: Services to Other Crime Victims (Anticipated Award Ceiling: $500,000) Awards under this category will be made to entities to serve other victims of crimes (not child or elder victimization), excluding human trafficking. Victim services may include, but are not limited to, emergency assistance, case management, shelter and housing, medical and dental care, victim advocacy, transportation, childcare, legal services, and employment assistance.

OJJDP FY25 Multistate Mentoring Programs Initiative

NIJ FY25 Research and Evaluation on Drugs and Crime: Nexus with Firearms and Violence

This funding opportunity seeks applications for rigorous applied research on drugs and crime to inform the development of evidence-based tools, practices, and policies for state, tribal, and local law enforcement and other criminal justice agencies that address drug trafficking, drug markets, and drug-related violence. The FY25 research priority is firearms — the intersection of drug crimes and firearm offenses in trends, interdiction, and prosecution, and efforts to disrupt those criminal activities and related violence.

NIJ FY25 Research and Evaluation of Policing Practices

This technical assistance resource serves as a portal where K-12 schools, school districts, state education agencies, and other stakeholders can access high quality federal and federally supported information, resources, and research that support student physical and mental health.

Grants to Prevent and Respond to Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, Stalking, and Sex Trafficking Against Children and Youth Program

This competitive grant program supports comprehensive, community-based efforts that develop and expand prevention, intervention, treatment, and response strategies to address the needs of children and youth impacted by domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

Youth Violence Prevention Program

This competitive grant program provides funding for applicants to develop and/or enhance strategies to prevent youth violence, including youth gang involvement and youth gang/group violence.

Enhancing School Capacity To Address Youth Violence

This competitive grant program supports targeted efforts to address youth violence through implementing evidence-based prevention and intervention efforts in a school-based setting (K–12th grade only).

Strategies To Support Children Exposed to Violence

This competitive grant program provides funding to communities to develop coordinated and comprehensive community-based approaches to help children and their families who are exposed to violence build resilience, restore their safety, heal their social and emotional wounds, and prevent future violence and delinquency. Funding can be used to develop and/or enhance support services for children exposed to violence to reduce the adverse impact of violence on youth, families, and communities, and to help family-serving organizations better recognize and help families at risk for exposure to violence.

School Violence Prevention Program (SVPP)

This competitive grant program provides funding to improve security at schools, including funding for metal detectors, lighting, locks, and other deterrent measures, training for law enforcement officers, and technology for expedited notification of law enforcement officers.

Research and Evaluation on School Safety

This competitive grant program funds research and evaluation projects on the root causes and consequences of school violence.

National Initiatives: Law Enforcement Training and Technical Assistance

This funding opportunity seeks to fund training and technical assistance (TTA) programs for eight national initiatives to support law enforcement and criminal justice stakeholders in key criminal justice areas. Delivered TTA will be site-based, program-specific TTA and broader TTA for the field. This program furthers DOJ’s mission by supporting and assisting state, local, territorial, and tribal jurisdictions in improving the criminal justice system and enhancing efforts to prevent, investigate, and respond to crime.

Luke and Alex School Safety Act – SchoolSafety.gov

The Luke and Alex School Safety Act, which was part of BSCA, created a Federal Clearinghouse on School Safety Evidence-based Practices within DHS (SchoolSafety.gov) that publishes evidence-based practices and recommendations to improve school safety for use by states, local educational agencies, institutions of higher education, state and local law enforcement agencies, health professionals, and the general public. Schoolsafety.gov also provides a grant tracker for school safety grant funds.

Project Prevent Grant Program

This competitive grant program provides grants to local educational agencies impacted by community violence and to expand their capacity to implement community- and school-based strategies to help prevent community violence and mitigate the impacts of exposure to community violence.

STOP School Violence Program

This competitive grant program aims to support school safety by implementing solutions to enhance school climate, establish school-based behavioral threat assessment and intervention teams to identify violence risks, introduce technologies like anonymous reporting tools, and apply other evidence-based strategies to prevent violence. The goal is to equip K–12 students, teachers, and staff with tools to recognize, respond to, and prevent acts of violence.
