Dr. Cherrell Green (she/her/hers)

Associate Director of Engagement and Assessment

Dr. Cherrell Green is a dedicated advocate, researcher, and evaluator focused on dismantling inequitable systems and promoting fair treatment for all.

As the Associate Director of Engagement and Assessment at Everytown for Gun Safety, she works closely with grantees, leading targeted engagement efforts to shape overarching strategies, refine capacity-building initiatives, and develop impactful work products.
Previously, Dr. Green was a Senior Research Associate at Justice System Partners, managing pretrial reform initiatives nationwide and implementing public health approaches to address community violence in Cincinnati. Before that role, as a Research Associate at the Vera Institute of Justice, Dr. Green led qualitative research efforts analyzing the impact of bail reform in New York State and played an instrumental role in advocating for parole board reform.

Dr. Green holds a Bachelor’s magna cum laude in Criminal Justice from Adelphi University, a Master’s in Criminal Justice from the University at Albany, SUNY, and a Ph.D. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis.
