Michaela Clarke is the Program Manager for the Community Safety Initiatives team at Everytown for Gun Safety, where she provides grant administration support for the Community Safety Fund. Michaela brings extensive experience in program management and capacity building, having worked on various initiatives throughout her career.
Prior to Everytown, Michaela was a Project Manager at Columbia University’s Justice Lab with the Square One Project. In this role, she led coalitions that shifted punishment narratives toward community safety and healing, focusing on alternatives to policing and incarceration. She also served as a Justice Fellow at the Equal Justice Initiative, where she researched racial injustice and worked on projects memorializing victims of racial terror lynching.
Michaela holds a B.A. in African and Black Diaspora Studies and Peace, Justice, and Conflict Studies from DePaul University in Chicago.
