OVW Fiscal Year 2025 Enhancing Investigation and Prosecution of Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, and Stalking (EIP) Initiative
The Enhancing Investigation and Prosecution (EIP) Initiative is designed to promote and evaluate effective investigation and prosecution responses to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. The EIP Initiative encourages law enforcement agencies and/or prosecutors’ offices to expand and improve their capacity to effectively investigate and/or prosecute these crimes, and, in so doing, support victim safety and autonomy, hold offenders accountable, and promote agency trust within the surrounding community.
NIJ FY25 Social Science Research and Evaluation on Forensic Science Systems
This funding opportunity seeks proposals for rigorous applied social science research and evaluative studies on the forensic science system. The field of forensic science is changing, particularly as technological advancements improve the criminal justice system’s ability to use forensic evidence more effectively and efficiently. The STOP (Services, Training, Officers, and Prosecutors) Violence Against Women Formula Grant Program supports local communities, including Indian tribal governments and Alaska Native villages, in their efforts to develop and strengthen effective responses to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
Grants to Indian Tribal Governments Program
This competitive grant program assists Tribal governments (or their authorized designees) to respond to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, sex trafficking, and stalking in Tribal communities.
Rural Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, and Stalking Program
This competitive grant program provides funds to enhance the safety of rural victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking and to support projects uniquely designed to address and prevent these crimes in rural areas. This program encourages collaboration among criminal justice agencies, victim services providers, social services agencies, health professionals, and other community organizations to overcome the problems of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking in rural communities.
Improving Criminal Justice Response (ICJR) Program
This competitive grant program assists state, local, and Tribal governments, and courts to improve the criminal justice response to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking as serious violations of criminal law, and to seek safety and autonomy for victims.
Coordinated Tribal Assistance Solicitation (CTAS)
This competitive grant program provides funding to federally recognized tribes and tribal consortia to improve public safety and victim services in tribal communities. Purpose areas may allow for eligible school safety expenses including the hiring of School Resource Officers and the development of, or to enhance existing, school-involved Youth Healing to Wellness Courts.
Smart Prosecution – Innovative Prosecution Solutions
This competitive grant program provides state, local, and tribal prosecutors with funding for evidence-based prosecution strategies to reduce crime and increase public safety and trust in the criminal justice system.
Rural and Small Department Violent Crime Reduction Initiative (RVCRI)
This competitive grant program provides funding to law enforcement agencies and prosecutors’ offices to implement violent crime reduction strategies, improve investigations and services to victims, and enhance collaboration between local stakeholders.
Crime Gun Intelligence Center Integration Initiative (CGIC)
This competitive grant program provides funds to areas experiencing increases in gun-related violent crime to help them work with ATF to utilize intelligence, technology, and community engagement to swiftly identify unlawfully used firearms and their sources and effectively prosecute perpetrators engaged in violent crime.
